Eventually, The Lion King made its Broadway premiere in and continues to dominate the stage today, having become the third-longest-running musical in Broadway history. In the film and musical, young lion cub Simba journeys through the savannah to become King of the Pride Lands and succeed his father, Mufasa Overall, the movie was entertaining. Subtle changes worked well and the little call-outs to the original Broadway cast amusing for those in the know. Renee Rapp is a star and she rocked the songs.
