Scam - to be avoided. I booked a hotel on Algotels after having been linked to by Trivago. This was before I had read these reviews, which in hindsight I wish I had done. I contacted the hotel a few days before my arrival and they told me they had no reservation in my name. I called Algotels and was given the usual ‘we’ll escalate this for Trivago supposedly shows "best offers" from booking agents, but when I then click through to the booking agent, the actual price offered is % higher every time. Much easier to go directly to [HOST] or [HOST] and get the real price. In short, Trivago don't show the real prices Usually [HOST] beats Trivago's lowest found rate but that's because we're Gold Standard members of [HOST]'s loyalty program and get Booked a hotel via Trivago. The booking was marked as pending on the site but the money was taken out of my account. Called Catchit and was told the rate had changed. Was transferred from the Trivago site to Prestigia site as the best fit for my requirements when travelling to Melbourne, AUS. Money was immediately deducted from my account. However, a simple tab next to their filtering options leads to "secret deals," which promise high-end accommodations at steep discounts You can also report scam texts by forwarding them to - a free reporting service provided by phone operators.
