I figured out a pretty good system for fish and livestock, which you can see on my farm when I am live. Basically: For livestock, I do the farmhand-square. Each corner is a 6x6 of a particular animal. That leaves a line 1x6 sticking out in each of the 4 cardinal directions Missing: softshell I have used a cheat here and there, as well as some file editing. But, I keep this limited to my own farm. I rarely go to other farms and most of mine are private (with the exception of one farm). I don't consider it cheating, as there is no competition with other players or farms.
